Just a Prelude

My name is Amanda (Mandy) Pawlewicz, and I am a Senior music education student at Elizabethtown College. I will have graduated from Elizabethtown College in May of 2018 with my Bachelor of Music in Music Education, my primary instrument the violin, and secondary viola. I was a member of the orchestra at Elizabethtown, as well as a member of the string quartet/quintet as both a violinist and a violist. In addition to being a member of the orchestra, I took part in the Elizabethtown Symphonic band on the oboe, as well as the French Horn. Collegiate study allowed me to hone my craft as an educator, leader, and performer. I have served as a principal player in both the violin and viola in the orchestra, and the Secretary of the college’s chapter of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association.

Throughout this portfolio, I give specific examples of my work in my placements as a teacher. As a music educator, it is my goal to help others see the beauty and wonder of music in everything they see and hear, no matter what it might be. Taking music from the passive, more laid back view into a more active and essential view in modern culture is going to be hard, but I'm always up for a challenge. Hard work, determination and positivity are the makings of our future leaders, and it is my honor and privilege to guide these young ones into the world they built for themselves. Please, enjoy my portfolio. Thank you!
